Smooth, quiet and rich in torque, the EQE 350+ Sedan is powered by an advanced 215kW electric motor that can send up to 288 hp and 391-ft of torque to the rear wheels. The “permanently excited synchronous motor” (PSM) features permanent magnets to generate AC current with high power density and efficiency. An advanced cooling system helps maintain consistent response during spirited driving and a wide range of climates.
Paddles on the steering wheel let you vary the intensity of energy recuperated by deceleration and braking during normal driving. Three levels of recuperation are selectable: normal, increased (which can allow one-pedal driving), and none (effectively coasting when you let off the driving pedal). A “D Auto” setting can activate the intelligent ECO Assist feature.
ECO Assist can intelligently process data from the vehicle’s driving assistance and navigation systems to help you maximize your efficiency and energy recuperation from braking or coasting. Using GPS and map data, topography, traffic, and the detection of nearby vehicles via radar and the stereo camera, ECO Assist can optimize energy recovery to the situation, and also allow pure one-pedal driving in some conditions.
A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car’s character with the flip of a switch. Three modes (ECO, Comfort and Sport) alter the drivetrain response, steering effort, and available AIRMATIC® suspension. A fourth “Individual” mode allows you to create a mode of your own.
The EQE Sedan is based on a platform whose architecture is dedicated to premium electric vehicles. A design not shared with any gasoline-powered model, its packaging, materials, aesthetics and safety systems are optimized not only to support its advanced all-electric powertrain, but to take advantage of the benefits electric power offers for quiet comfort, ample space and innovative design.
The “sensual purity” of the EQE Sedan’s design is rooted in its all-electric architecture, but comes to life on every surface. Cab-forward proportions and a coupelike roofline are at once spacious and sporty, while the long wheelbase with 4-wheel steering pair generous room with nimble handling. The “one bow” design stretches the bodywork over the cabin, while the Black Panel front and full-width taillamps further define the futuristic elegance of the electric Mercedes family.
Extensive aerodynamic refinements start with the body shape, smooth undercarriage and minimal front openings. Streamlining, seam sealing and minimization, wheel design, tire spoilers ahead of each wheel, flush door handles, a standard rear lip spoiler, and extensive efforts to minimize wind noise all team up to enhance riding comfort, stable handling, driving range and efficiency.

Elegantly sporty and specially spacious, the EQE cabin takes advantage of its all-electric architecture with a high-tech, high-touch approach. Surfaces flow to accentuate the passenger room, while sleek displays are poised amid rich materials. Elegant details include a rose gold vent strip spanning the dash, and upholstery with a draped effect. And both genuine and artificial intelligence deliver user-friendliness that can continue to advance over time.
In the future, cars will be able to communicate with each other over the airwaves. The future is here today. With its industry-leading Car-to-X Communication, every new EQE can automatically alert a central notification system of certain dangers, from detected wheelspin to the use of hazard flashers or even windshield wipers. The system can then alert other drivers with Car-to-X via in-dash displays or announcements, allowing precautions to be taken before reaching the hazard.
A Mercedes-Benz first, PRE-SAFE® can detect instability during certain vehicle maneuvers that suggest a collision or rollover is imminent. It can then tighten the front seat belts, adjust the front passenger seat, and close the windows and sunroof, all in an effort to better prepare the occupants and restraints in the moments before a collision. If no accident occurs, the seat-belt tensioners reverse, and you simply readjust your seat, open the sunroof and continue on your way.
An important enhancement to the industry-first PRE-SAFE® system can help reduce the effects of a collision on occupants’ hearing. When the sensors of PRE-SAFE detect an impending impact, it can emit a special “pink noise” tone via the audio system just before the collision. The tone’s frequency is tuned to pre-trigger a natural reflex within the human ear canal that helps shut out loud noises in advance of the actual impact.
With longer life, quicker illumination and beams that approximate daylight even more closely than xenon headlamps, multi-element LED headlamps can enhance both vision and visibility during nighttime driving. LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) and all other front light functions are integrated with the flowing sculpture of the headlamp assemblies, making the design as appealing as it is illuminating. The taillamps feature a full-width LED accent with a distinctive helix effect.
Intuitive, and artfully sculpted, seat-shaped controls help you and your front passenger find your ideal seating positions with 12-way power adjustment, including cushion length. A memory system for each front seat recalls three stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the power steering column and side mirror positions. Standard heating with automatic timed step-down adds soothing, controlled comfort in cool weather.
Selectable via MBUX is a program that can minutely adjust the seat cushion and backrest, as well as the multicontour lumbar supports, on an ongoing basis while you drive. The virtually imperceptible adjustments can help reduce driving fatigue based on a patented algorithm.
Ventilated seats are a luxury you’ll soon consider a necessity. Three levels of heating and cooling ventilation are offered. By gently circulating air through perforations in the seat and backrest, ventilated seats help keep you cooler and your clothes drier during warmer months. Reversible fans help draw heat away for brief periods. On cold or damp days, using both the ventilation and heating together can circulate the seat heating more quickly, to help keep you warm and dry.

Ten massage programs can help soothe and rejuvenate the lower back and shoulders, including modes combining massage and heat for a “hot stone” effect worthy of a high-end spa.
A breakthrough in automobile cockpit control, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience is further enhanced in the EQE. MBUX integrates digital in-dash displays including touchscreen technology, touch-sensitive controls, Bluetooth® hands-free and audio streaming, and an industry-advancing voice control system that responds to your everyday speaking voice and phrasing of commands. You can set up multiple user profiles of favored settings, and groups of settings can be saved as themes or moods.
Yet another benefit of the artificial intelligence integral to MBUX is its context-sensitive awareness, the key to showing the most-needed information and features on-screen for the driving situation. Instead of needing to search through traditional layers of static menus, dynamic arrangement of pertinent functions requires zero layers of “menu diving.” It’s further enhanced by suggestion modules that offer additional functions MBUX determines that it can learn from your personal use patterns.
Memorizing fixed voice commands is a thing of the past: Artificial intelligence makes the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) a future you can live today. Vehicle functions for a wide range of features respond to natural, conversational phrases. For example, say “I’m cold” and MBUX can adjust the climate control. It can even learn new phrases over time, and respond with more flexible and friendly language as well.
