Confirmed S-Class Performance Specs

Mercedes-Benz has yet to release the full details of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but we know there will be at least two trims: the S 500 and the S 580. They’ve also released just enough S-Class performance specs to allow you to start dreaming about cruising through Roseburg in a 2021 Mercedes-Benz S 580. Here is what we know so far:

S 580 Performance

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S 580 is equipped with a 4.0L V8 biturbo engine with EQ Boost, which generates an extra 21 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, for a total performance output of:

  • 516 lb-ft of torque

S 500 Performance

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 500 gets a 3.0L inline-6 turbo engine, also featuring EQ Boost to help deliver the following S-Class performance specs:

  • 429 hp*
  • 384 lb-ft of torque*

Both the 2021 Mercedes-Benz S 580 and the S 500 are equipped with a standard 9G-TRONIC® 9-speed automatic transmission.

2021 S-Class Performance: 4MATIC® All-Wheel Drive

Whether you live in Eugene or Corvallis, you’re no stranger to slick, rain-soaked streets. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class boasts standard 4MATIC® All-Wheel Drive, helping you to navigate any road condition with confidence. At the same time, DYNAMIC SELECT® switchable drive modes can adjust to any terrain, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency no matter what the conditions below are like.

2021 S-Class Performance: Wider Stance, Nimbler Handling

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is built longer and wider than its predecessors, making room for a spacious and comfortable interior. Rest assured, the larger build comes with no sacrifice to handling and responsiveness. The new S-Class is as nimble as ever with the availability of all-new rear-axle steering, which lends itself to a tighter turning radius for urban driving in Eugene.
